PORTRAIT OF THE WINEMAKER:

Now based in St Aubin de Luigné, Anjou, Adrien de Mello has a colorful and varied background. He began his winemaking career in Quebec, Canada, and honed his skills studying winemaking in South Africa and the United States. After some time, he decided to return to his roots and spent four years working in the Rhône Valley, where he gained extensive knowledge of biodynamic and natural winemaking.

Determined to make wines of his own, he returned to his native region in western France. Since 2015, he has successfully made his mark among the established generation of natural wine producers in the Anjou region. Although Adrien is one of the newer winemakers in the area, his wines speak for themselves—reflecting his years of experience and his dedication to honing his craft across various parts of the world. It’s only a matter of time before Adrien’s wines become nearly impossible to find.

TASTE PROPERTIES:

A slightly oxidative profile that reveals aftertastes of pear, honeysuckle, ginger and pineapple. Light acidity and a noticeable minerality.

FOOD PAIRING:

Pairs well with soft cheeses, antipasti, white meat and shellfish.

Serve cold (10-12 C).
